NAVIGLIO LOFT

The project concerns the recovery of the attic of two "case di ringhiera" in the Naviglio area in Milan.

The project involved the demolition of internal walls to create a continuous and bright space. The original wooden beams were preserved and left exposed, while skylights were installed to bring natural light to the sleeping area. On the ground floor of the one-bedroom apartment, the staircase is hidden behind an iron wall, which conceals the utility rooms. The staircase of the studio apartment, also made of iron, was left visible and is placed next to the reclaimed wooden table, serving as a home working station.

Meticulous attention has been devotes to the combination of materials (reclaimed parquet flooring, original wooden beams, raw iron) and the choice of works by emerging Italian artists that engage in dialogue with each other.
